the defiance of a sadgirl was born during a period of immense and concentrated change, after separating from my long-term boyfriend, label, and management (among other personal challenges) over a chaotic six week period. It became something I had to write, a way to process, express, and, in part, prove to myself that I could do this on my own. Though the album was independently written, produced, recorded, funded, released, and promoted, it wouldn’t exist without the incredible community who helped bring it to life. Allow me to take you on the journey of the album, and share in my gratitude for the people who made it possible.
